Pathfinder shadow blade11/8/2023 ![]() Wizard (not for the spells, you don't care about them, but because of some of their feats!) Or the ability to just throw an illusionary creature down (we will get to illusionary creature, but combined with a good deception score, this is ALSO really scary). Utterly terrifying, in a "the crow who steals peoples breath" kind of way. Combined with either Illusionary Creature, or Steal Shadow, it is just a monstrous combination. So, with such a lovely base (and it IS lovely), if you are free archetyping, what should you add to it?įamiliar Master (I'm serious, this is a legit terrifying archetype, ESPECIALLY for someone stacking deception)įamiliar Master has Familiar Conduit. It is a pity it is a fort save to put it on them, but, what can you do. Then, at your leisure, sneak around, strangling their shadow until they pass out. So, if you are willing to burn two focus points, you can steal their shadow, hide, and move, with a stealth bonus. ( but we can turn them into them later!.) but another shadow focus spell is Steal Shadow Sadly, Illusionary object / Illusionary Creature (two really amazing spells) are not darkness or shadow spells. It is rare so many effects all work together so well. So you can cast spell, hide as a reflex, move while hidden, get a +1 while doing so, or a drop their perception (which is really great when throwing illusions, or shadow spells) Their Bloodline ( ) gives you a +1 status bonus to Stealth or imposing a –1 status penalty to Perception after casting a darkness / shadow.ĭim the Light ( ) lets you hide as a reflex after casting a darkness / shadow spell. Shadow sorcerers are really good, even given how great bards are as occult casters, the combination of their bloodline power and focus spells works really well together. They have high Charisma, so the Deception skill will end up nice and high (and you want it and stealth to be high.) Sorcerers which have flexible spells are super great, since while you typically can move some around with an evolution (see arcane evolution) you are usually restricted on doing so.
